The NBN cinema series has picked up without missing a beat. We had a really special cinema series up close and personal with Director, Actor and Award winner Layze Shapiro. Three films were screened; one that he directed, one that he acted in and a third that won first prize as best film this year. All were excellent and thought provoking.
As a unique bonus, after the screening, Layze previewed some clips from his upcoming Israeli TV series “Srugim,” which aired on June 23rd. Continue Reading »

In preparing to uproot my wife and five kids (now six!) from a happy and comfortable life in Teaneck, to move half way around the world, my biggest worry was whether I’d find a decent job that could support my family and make a worthwhile contribution. The Municipality of Bat-Yam invites all NBN Olim to participate in it’s Olim Exhibition which will open in October 2008.
The Exhibition will display works of artists who immigrated to Israel in the past 15 years, and will cover a variety of themes. Artists who are willing to participate in the exhibition should send an application together with 3 photos of their works by email to Continue Reading »

Nefesh B’Nefesh’s Regional Coordinators hosted an afternoon seminar for school principals and advisors on issues facing North American Oleh families. The seminar was attended by 44 participants, representing 20 schools in the outlying Jerusalem area, as well as national and local leaders from Misrad HaChinuch’s Aliyah and Klitah Department.

During the winter and spring of 2008, NBN launched an exciting new venture. With growing numbers of foreign students spending their gap year in Israel, Nefesh B’Nefesh began reaching out and meeting with students from various programs in order to promote Aliyah.
